Your next client might not be saying “no” to your offer, they might be saying “I don’t believe you.” I’m breaking down one of the most overlooked skills in Instagram marketing and online coaching sales: the way you sound. Same script, same transformation, same promise, but if your tone feels flat or uncertain, your audience feels it and your close rate pays the price.

We talk about how tonality, animation, and conviction change the way people experience your content, whether you’re talking on camera, recording a voiceover, sending voice memos in Instagram DMs, or leading a Zoom sales call. I also unpack the two big reasons coaches show up without energy: worrying about what random people think, or doubting yourself or the system you teach. If you’re newer, light on testimonials, or still developing your method, I’ll help you understand why that doubt is normal and how to work through it fast.

You’ll leave with practical tools to build real confidence, including the “social proof” album strategy to stack testimonials, fight negativity bias, and give yourself a quick mental reset before you hit record or hop on a call. I also share ways to turn feedback into improvements without letting one tough client experience override the results you’ve delivered.

If this helps, subscribe, share it with a coach friend, and leave a quick review so more health and fitness entrepreneurs can land dream clients from Instagram.

Welcome And The Core Promise

SPEAKER_00

Welcome to the Make Moves Podcast. I'm your host, Clayton Moves, and this is the podcast for all health and fitness experts to land dream clients from Instagram and learn marketing and sales that doesn't feel salesy. All right, let's dive in. Welcome to the Make Moves Podcast. I'm Clayton Moves and I'm here to help you land dream clients from Instagram. So today's episode is teaching you how to sell more confidently in the way that you talk. This applies to your content when you talk on camera or do a voiceover. This also applies to sales conversations on a Zoom call or in Instagram DMs via sending voice memos. Um so if you can make these small tweaks, you can drastically improve how many clients that you close. All right, let's dive in. So how you talk makes people buy. And I'm not talking about the words that you say, I'm talking about how you say them. So if you come on camera like this, yeah, this system works. It helped my client lose 20 pounds and have more energy to play with his kids. Yeah, okay, bro. Ain't nobody buying that. I don't believe you. There was no conviction. But if you come on camera talking like this, yes, this system absolutely works. It helped my client lose 20 pounds and have more energy to play with his kids. Wow. Like you feel that. You feel the difference, you believe it, you want that. Same words, different tonality, more conviction, more animation. Right? So I found that my clients that I work with either fall into one of two categories for showing up like a wet sock on camera. So option one here, they are naturally shy, awkward on camera, or they're thinking too much on what random ass people from high school or college are going to think about this video. Or number two, which I feel is worse, is that they don't believe in themselves or they don't believe in the system that they teach. So if you doubt yourself, it's probably because you're brand new or you don't have many clients or you don't have any real testimonials or you haven't really gotten a big flashy outcome for a client yet, and that's okay, right? If it's the system, it's probably because you don't feel confident teaching it yet. Or you feel like you need to get level two or level three or study more or get more certifications. Or the third thing here is that it's possible that you yourself aren't bought into the system. So maybe it doesn't feel that great in your body, like you feel like it should, right? So uh, you know, this is something that people don't talk about, right? You you get excited about a system, you get certified, you go to the weekend seminar, and then you know, it just starts not feeling great. And you're starting to doubt like, does this even really work? Right. And you pair that with not having many clients or any real, you know, outcomes, and people really start to waver on how they talk about what they do. So, regardless if you doubt yourself or if you doubt the system that you teach, you need to work through that, and you need to work through that fast. So, Alex Himozy famously says, you need to outwork your self-doubt and build a body of undeniable proof that you are who you say you are and that you can get people results. Right. So, fantastic quote here. But here are some of my favorite actionable tips to rewire your brain and to believe in your own greatness. Hey friend, this episode of the Make Moves Podcast is sponsored by me, Clayton Law. Now, back to the show. So, first thing is you want to create a photo album on your phone and call it social proof. Um, this will also be utilized for marketing on Instagram and selling in your Instagram stories, um, but it can also be used for a mental pep talk and a hype beast, right? It can be like essentially like you're a little John in your corner, like, oh what? Yep, you're good at what you do. Okay. That was horrible, but you get the idea. Um, so what you need to do is you need to look at these screenshots before getting on camera. So you need to look at them before sales calls, you need to look at them before you film content, and you need to look at them for when a client stops working with you or has some negative feedback, right? Our brains are wired to seek out negativity. And so you could get like 10 fantastic testimonials, but if you get like one client that just didn't put in the work or had a bad experience for whatever reason, they say, Hey, I want to refund, or hey, this just doesn't work. Um, people hold on to that baggage like crazy. So you need to be able to pull the weeds and plant flowers. So you need to pull that negative feedback, pull that negative review, and plant in the other 10 positive pieces of feedback you have. Um, and again, too, you obviously also take what they said and try and make your services better in the process. So, as a solo entrepreneur, your mindset is the garden from which your revenue grows. Pretty proud of that one there. As a solo entrepreneur, your mindset is the garden from which your revenue grows. Can take that to the bank. Okay, so and lastly, this episode is short and sweet.
